dsfklsajflsjfdlk that’s the german word for kittens?
literally: “cat children”
ISN’T GERMAN A CUTE LANGUAGE
DO YOU KNOW THE GERMAN WORD FOR BAT
HOW IS THAT NOT JUST KAWAII AS HECK
My favorite is their word for bagpipes.
But then their word for skull is Totenkopf, as in Death’s Head.
So German basically has two settings, kawaii and metal, and there is no in between.
I love German.
Reblogging for the German lesson.
literally all those word you just said excepts for katzenkinder are the same in dutch. Bats? Vleermuizen. Bagpipe? Doedelzak. Skull? Doodshoofd.
While Dudelsack, Totenkopf and Fledermaus are translated correctly kitten is translated with Kätzchen in the german language. It is more likely that the guide was translated to german from a different language as the german translators hold the silent record of worst possible translations.
